Library Week Celebrations

Library week was inaugurated in our school on 14.11.16 by our Principal Smt.S.Usha Rani. It was celebrated from 14.11.16 to 19.11.16. Student spoke on author Arundathi Roy and the students of class I to IV std narrated stories on Panchatanthra and various competitions were announced on that day for the classes I to X Std. Competitions like story telling on unity is strength, narrating stories from Panchatanthra, Moral stories, fairy tales, G.K. Quiz, Soll Vilaiyattu, Weaving the yarn were conducted.    

The valedictory function of Library week celebration was conducted on 19/11/2016 (Saturday) .The programme was inaugurated by lighting the kuthuvilakku by our chief guest Dr.T.K.Thiruvengada Mani, retired from Madras University, Taramani Campus, Co-ordinator of Digitalization. The programme started with a prayer rendered by our school students. Our principal Smt. S. Usharani introduced the chief guest shri. Dr. Thiruvengada Mani welcomed the gathering.    

 The following books were released by our chief guest on this grand occasion - X1’B1 Stories written by 23 students.

The Chief Guest motivated the students by recollecting the memorable thoughts of Abraham Lincoln, Julius Caesar and others. He also pointed out the importance of latest E-book technology and digitalization. He concluded his speech by encouraging the students to read more books. The students from V11 standard enacted a skit on the topic “Do’s and don’ts in the library”. A book exhibition was also organised in which five publishers participated. The programme came to an end with Shanthi manthram.
